Like you're allowed to be attracted to marginalized people lol ... you're allowed actively think certain traits they have are beautiful. You can even think they're hot. This isn't inherently objectifying. As long as you're treating them like people it's fine. You don't have to like, pretend you don't know what somebody looks like lest your attraction be Problematic

Remember: sexual attraction in itself is morally neutral. And my crazy take is that if you're respectful about it it's actually cool and good to find beauty in different kinds of people & being horny about it doesn't negate that. Peace and love on planet earth

we have come to a point where i think we need to acknowledge that social media moderation as a concept is completely broken - rules are created by well meaning people for good reasons, but because of the infeasibility of human moderators actually giving each of these cases due diligence and making a decision that is widely agreed with, it’s largely just automated. it comes down to whoever hits the report button more and when. with social media as a whole being fractured into all of these individual corporate entities with no cohesive unifying operating procedures, there is probably no good solution to this other than moving away from social media platforms and focusing on smaller self-contained / community run online groups.

we’re probably already seeing this happening with the massive popularity of discord communities while social media companies flounder and shrivel up around us. as a matter of fact we have already seen this happen for most of the internet’s existence - they were called “Forums”. it’s pretty obvious that social media was only really good at facilitating the creation of these pockets of community anyways, but the nature of social media as a “platform” that must be as profitable as possible only ever forced these social clusters together in a way that drove engagement via arguments.

as hard as it is to imagine for people who grew up in a world where the default state of being online was competing for massive attention in full view of the entire public on these massive platforms, it’s probably going to be looked back on as a short-lived and failed experiment.

what does seem to be happening across the board on every website is that theyre going to be scrapped for parts to shareholders. ad rev is straight up failing. there are no back up monetization plans because they all expanded beyond their scope and took money they couldnt return on

so, I haven't spoken about this much lately, but

last year I completed a 4 year D&D campaign, which also happened to be my first time DMing, and I have been taking a little time off as I very badly needed a break afterward, but I'm starting to test the waters again and really internalizing how much work I accomplished

I had drawn up over 400 character tokens - here's some of the "main" ones (there were so many others for just, random NPCs, combat encounters, etc)

over 100 hand-drawn maps,

and 20 environment art pieces (I've posted some of these, before)

all this just to say... you know... I did a lot of work, and I am coming around to being proud of that

hopefully I'll be able to share new work from a new game, soon 💖

really confused as to how improving moderation wasn’t on their roadmap considering their lawsuit, contracting moderators who were being actively bigoted, and the concept of selling moderation (literally never even seen that one before)

nex benedict, a 16 year old nonbinary student in oklahoma, was beaten to death by three of their female classmates in the same district libs of tiktok has been targeting. not only is this heartbreaking for us to hear about, but i can’t even begin to imagine what this must be like for the family.

too many trans children have died and too few people are talking about this

i cant bear to read too many articles about it considering this is my home, but theres also talk about nex being native. some sources say cherokee, some say choctaw, im not sure of the truth of these claims but knowing oklahoma i bet nex was native and that the news sources just didnt care enough to get the nation correct. there is a great possibility that we have seen another one of our two-spirit cousins taken from us before they even reached adulthood. transphobic violence, especially in oklahoma, often coincides with racist and anti-native violence.

this is also in the middle of a state-wide legislation from the governor to ban all diversity, equity, and inclusion departments/funding/staff from schools in oklahoma. i literally just got an email from the president of OU about how OU is complying with these bans this morning. things are not safe in oklahoma and they are only getting worse. please keep oklahoma trans people, especially trans children, in your hearts and if you know any personally please check in on them and let them know theyre not suffering alone
